Short Term & Temporary Self Contained Accommodation

Maybe you are coming to Christchurch to attend a show, concert, a sporting event, a family gathering, wedding or a reunion of some kind? Or you may have decided to have a well deserved break away and immerse yourself in the delights of the Garden City and its environ? Perhaps you require short term or temporary accommodation whilst your house is repaired for earthquake damage? Whatever your reason we have a variety of self contained central city properties available for short term stays.


All of our short term accommodation is situated within the Christchurch city area.

Property Facilities

Our short term properties are fully furnished, with fully equipped kitchens, complimentary car park, internet, laundry facilities and quality furnishings, with some properties having additional luxuries such as gyms, pools or security parking. 


Our accommodation range enables us to provide self contained holiday apartments that will match any short stay visitor: those travelling alone, couples, small groups of friends or family....we have something to suit everyone.

The Christchurch earthquakes were incredibly stressful events that to this day still continue to impact day-to-day life in Christchurch. When it comes to finding temporary accommodation during EQC repairs or a rebuild, our goal is to make your transition to EQC accommodation as easy and smooth as possible.

We offer a wide variety of accommodation options to suit your unique needs and help you maintain a normal routine while in temporary EQC accommodation. Our properties offer all the amenities you need, including:

  • Fully furnished rooms
  • A fully equipped kitchen
  • Internet connection (most properties also have Sky TV and phone services)
  • All bed linens and towels provided
  • Full departure clean between each tenant

Special considerations

Some of our properties accept pets. Simply advise us at the time of enquiry about your pets so we can recommend suitable properties. If you have a dog, we’ll also need to know the breed.

For the comfort and health of our tenants, smoking is not permitted.


Our rates vary by property and are based on a minimum stay of 4 to 8 weeks. We offer discounted rates for stays over 8 weeks.

Our rates include the booking fee, a power allowance, full departure cleaning service, internet and Sky TV and local calls (if Sky and phone service connected at the property).

How to book EQC accommodation with us

Our goal is to make the process of booking your EQC accommodation as easy as possible – we’ll be here to support you every step of the way. Here’s how the process works:

  1. As soon as you have a general idea about when your repair or rebuild will start, please get in touch with us. You can call us (03 372 3408) or use the contact form on our website. We encourage you to get in touch as soon as you know your approximate dates, as this will give you the most options.
  2. We’ll then gather all the information we need to identify suitable properties for you. This includes the number of people in your household, pets, desired location, insurance information and budget for accommodation (if specified).
  3. Next, we’ll review our database of properties to find suitable ones that are available in your timeframe. We’ll send you an email with a list of the properties that match your requirements and a formal quote for each of the properties to provide to your insurance company.
  4. Once you’ve chosen the property you want and received approval from your insurance company, we’ll send you confirmation for your EQC accommodation. To confirm your reservation, we request that you pay a refundable security deposit of $500 - $750.
  5. Once you have approval from your insurance company, we are typically able to invoice the insurance company directly. If you are having any problems getting a response from the insurance company, we are happy to contact them on your behalf. We have strong relationships with the local insurance brokers as we have been working with them to provide EQC accommodation for the past several years. We may be able to help move things along if you’re experiencing delays.
